Auld Lang Syne - Jimi Hendrix(?!)

Happy Holidays. I hope everyone is having a good break. I've been to like a gazillion parties and seen about million movies this vacation (more accurately, 4). Memoirs of a Geisha is decent, to say the least. More of something you'd watch if you were really bored. Fun with Dick and Jane is fairly amusing. The Producers is a fucking laugh riot. Its like one big SNL skit. Everyone should go watch it. And in the rentals section, Cinderalla Man is a really good movie. Kinda slow in the beginning, but it picks up. I still have to see Narnia and Munich.

Happy New Year Everyone!!

Since my last post, there have certainly been some ups and downs in my life, all culminating to one pretty kickass night yesterday. More on that later.

One thing I found amusing was that we took a two part test in math the other week, and since people scored so bad, Joe (our teacher) let everyone retake it, saying that he'd take the second score. On one part of the retake, I got a 100%, and on the other part, I did even worse than on the first time o.O. It wasn't even a little bit worse.. but a lot. lol. But in the end, my overal test grade still came out like 15 points higher.

The tournament in badminton club has started, and Chris and I are gonna take it by storm. Ravi, prepare to eat shit.

In orch, SDSU's orchestra came down and played some stuff for us, one of which was the Tchaik violin concerto. Considering their concert for that was THAT night, the soloist should have been much better prepared, in my opinion. Girish can probably play it better than he can :P. Then they mixed our orchestra with their's, and we played stuff together. My standpartner (their principal second) was so freakin good. She sight read everything pretty much perfectly except for this one part that we took like 2 weeks to get down. But after like 2 times, she got it. What took us 2 weeks to figure out how to play, she was able to do it after 2 tries. lol. Then they showed us their quartet, and it was SO FREAKIN PRO.

In CYO, we played 2 holiday concerts. In terms of crappiness, they're pretty much on par with the performance at Torn's church that we did last year in chamber. For that one, I remember calling it "the worst performance I've ever played, ever."

My grades are kinda depressing. On my last progress notice, the only A I had was in orchestra. In bio, chem, and math, I almost have an A. Everything else is a solid B. The most B's I've ever had on a progress notice were 2, and they were always pulled up by the semester so that I had straight A's. I've never gotten a B before on a report card, but by the looks of it, this might be the year -_-.

On Friday night I went to the San Diego Wild Animal Park with key club to volunteer at the Festival of Lights. Face painting was fun. Some of the cutest kids come by to get painted on. It makes you feel really good about yourself, even if you suck at painting, cause no matter how crappy you do the kids always get this big grin on their faces when they see it and say they love it. I also did some gingerbread man cookie making thing. There you basically just give them a cookie and show them the frosting and candy that they can use to decorate it and tell them they can use as much of it as they like. When I said that last part, there were 3 girls who's eyes got really big and were like "as much as we want? REALLY??" And I said yes. So the first thing they do is go "COOOOOL!!," turn over the bowl of frosting, and scoop it ALL onto their cookie o.O. That night ended with all us "big kids" playing on snow-hill and eating shit by sledding down and crashing at the bottom. It was the most fun I've had on a Friday night in a while.

Last night was MC's Winterformal. I went over to KCN's house and chilled with Patrick, Jon, Fadi, and George for a while. Then I went over to pick Lisa up and bring her back to KCN's. On the way back to KCN's, we got lost like 4 times and made like 8 illegal u-turns. Funny how I can find KCN's house on my first try when its light out, but as soon as its night, I can't. We at dinner and chilled at KCN's. Then more people came until there were like a million people in the house (by a million, I actually mean like 20 something). We took pictures and such, and George, Fadi, Patrick, and Jon gave us a little dance performance. It was interesting to say the least :P. I met like 6 new people at her house, one of which was MIMI's KEVIN?! If she reads this, she's gonna kill me. Then we all mosey-ed over to the school and got into the dance. I thought the DJ last night could have done better.. and I don't think we ever finished any song the entire way through except the slow dance ones. In the middle of one song, everything stopped, and one of the AP's came on and was like "If you are the owner of Silver Ford Focus, you left your headlights on." Everyone started booing and jeering. I felt kinda bad for the owner of the car...cause that must be REALLY damn embarassing. The dance was still really fun, though. I'd like to thank Lisa for being my date last night :P.

Also, my widsom teeth are coming in, starting to hurt, and I think I might have to get them pulled soon? Damn.
